Today’s challenge
The energy supply sector in the UK is responsible for around 24% of the country’s total greenhouse gas emissions (GOV.UK, 2024). Whilst we have seen significant reductions in emissions over the past few decades – largely due to a shift from coal to renewable energy sources – there is more to be done.
With the collective global drive towards a low carbon future, more and more organisations are prioritising factors beyond cost considerations alone when selecting energy suppliers – particularly environmental credentials. This shift is reshaping the competitive landscape, and sustainability is becoming a non-negotiable and key differentiator.
